I don’t know about other areas of the country but with all the rain we’ve had in Texas, the mosquito population is out of control. Our daughter has a pretty severe swelling reaction to the bites and I just don’t really like itching all the time. My wife and I try to avoid pesticides and chemicals as much as possible and had been going through large amounts of Off! I just recently ran across the Don’t Bug Me Patch that’s just intriguing enough to try. Imagine a world of not smelling like deep woods pine, or feeling perpetually sticky. This will be an item that I will review and post back a rating in a few days. In the meantime, check it out.

Silver Cross Pram isn’t the only company adding more modern gear to their line. Dutailier recently introduced its new innovative glider, the Adagio. With the comfort of a recliner and the soothing motion of a glider, this gorgeous leather chair goes great in the nursery as well as the family room. It’s got both a recline setting and a calming gliding motion, as well as a flip-up footres and extra lumbar support.
Check it out at Giggle.
Also, as a father on the other side of needing a glider (my daughter is now 18 months) a good looking glider goes a long way in the old “man room” for watching football and sports. It’s quite comfortable and makes for a great chair for Dad.

This nifty new gadget is a great addition to any kid’s bathroom. Simply screw it onto the faucet, and the Faucet Light illuminates the stream. Even better, the Faucet Light now comes in a temperature controlled model that lights up blue when the water is cold and turns to red when the water is over 89 degrees. It’s a simple and fun way to make sure the tap water doesn’t get too hot. It fits most US faucets and includes adaptors to fit 95% of the sinks out there. Retails for $20.

Retail chain Restoration Hardware is planning to launch Restoration Hardware Baby & Child later this year as a catalog and web site, with about 150 actual stores to open at a later date.
“This is a severely under-served category in the top shopping centers,” said Gary Friedman, president and CEO. Noting that the top 100 centers “have only one offering – Pottery Barn Kids,” he said. Restoration Hardware Baby & Child will be positioned slightly higher in pricing strategy.
Look for the catalog/website this fall/winter.

I saw this at the ABC Kids Expo and I’ve been meaning to post about it for some time. It was showcased in the new products sections and it’s won all kinds of awards. The
DaysAgo Digital Day Counter is an attachment made to fit all kinds of household products, including baby food in jars, freshly prepared food, expressed milk, mixed baby formula, and stored leftovers. It digitally records the number of days since the item was last opened. So you don’t have to guess how long ago it half-eaten jar of baby food was opened.
Their reviews have been great and you can read them on their website, as well as find info on where to buy.

Angel Baby Lotion is a safe, gentle and effective formula of truly organic ingredients blended to moisturize and protect sensitive and delicate baby skin. We spent extra time with this formula because anything you put on your baby is absorbed through the body’s largest organ – the skin! This luscious lotion is made with organic rooibos, which is used to soothe eczema, skin allergies and diaper rash.
Another organic bonus is the amazing, all natural smell – no artificial anything. It smells so good you’ll want to eat your baby up! That means no parabens or other chemical preservatives, artificial dyes or fragrances.

The chair that grows with your child!
With the Tripp Trapp® chair, Stokke builds upon the amazing, international award-winning success of their KinderZeat® by adding a super-safe 5-point harness and an optional Baby Rail, both of which allow your child to start using the chair as early as they’re able to sit up unassisted!
Incredibly stable, sturdy and stylish, this revolutionary children’s chair lifts little ones up to table-level so they can be included in more family activities. The ergonomically-correct design also makes it an excellent chair for kids to use while working at the computer or playing video games.
The fully adjustable seat and footrest allow the Tripp Trapp to grow with your child from tot to teen and all points between. In fact, the seat and footrest hold up to 300 pounds, so even adults can sit in it!
But one of the best things about this chair is that kids actually enjoy sitting in it! Unlike highchairs, which restrict kids’ movement, and uncomfortable “big person” chairs that give them no “floor” for their feet to rest on, the Tripp Trapp offers more freedom, a larger variation of movement, better circulation and a secure footrest.
